Achieving an equitable and cost-effective transition in road vehicles

 Session 1: Ensuring rapid, broad, equitable and economically sound adoption of electric cars
 Session 2: Accelerating the transition to zero tailpipe CO2 road freight: overcoming barriers and addressing uncertainties

Mobilizing investments to ensure that the technology transition in the transport sector is a win-win strategy for climate, the environment, industry and society

 Session 4: Addressing challenges in battery (and chips) value chains and securing sustainable critical material supply
 Session 5: Hydrogen merit order: where should scarce hydrogen resources be allocated across the economy, and across transportation uses?

Continuing the ITS-Davis tradition of convening the highest caliber experts and leaders from government, environmental NGOs, industry and academia

This invitation-only, in-person event will contribute to sustainable transportation policy development in Europe. The conference will address challenges to achieving sustainable European transportation systems in the context of evolving EU governance and policy decisions. We will consider climate, energy security, environmental justice, and economic concerns and how these influence transportation investments and choices.

Key Topics

The transition to low-carbon energy, electrification of cars and trucks, sustainable fuels for aviation and shipping

The digital transition and its impact on passenger mobility, including new mobility and travel multimodality, as well as freight logistics

Cross-cutting issues of environmental and mobility justice and labor impacts

The conference will be an opportunity for transatlantic dialogue and sharing lessons learned on topics including Europe’s engagement with China, India, and other countries and regions.
